PowerAmerica provides value to its members through acceleration of their wide bandgap concept-to-prototype cycle. By accelerating the market introduction of wide bandgap products, industry members grow their business, and university members benefit through collaboration with industry.

Located at NC State University, PowerAmerica is working to make wide bandgap (WBG) semiconductor technologies cost-competitive with the silicon-based power electronics. PowerAmerica is an industry-led consortia that is advancing the technology and applications of new power electronics based on SiC and GaN.  PowerAmerica is also known as the Next Generation Power Electronics National Manufacturing Innovation Institute.
